Abstract Linear Background
  • We believe the Holy Bible was written by men moved by the Holy Ghost and is thus divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore, is and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and religious opinions should be tried. (II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:19-21; John 5:39; 16:13-15; Ex. 24:4; Deut. 4:1-2).

  • We believe there is one and only one true and living God. God is a spiritual, intelligent, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in Holiness and all other perfections. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being.

God is eternally existent, infinite as God the Father. God as the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures and flow of the stream of human history according to the purpose of His grace. He is all-powerful, all loving and all wise. God is the Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men. (Gen. 1:1; 2:7; Ex. 3:14; I Chron. 29:10; Psalms 19:1-3; Matt. 6:9; Rom. 8:14-15; I Cor. 8:6; Heb. 11:6: 12:9)

Christ is the eternal Son of God who is one with God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience and in His death on the cross. He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, partaking of the nature of God and of man and in whose person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present Lord. (Gen. 18:1; Matt. 1:18-23; John 1:1-18; II Cor. 5:19-21; Heb. 1:1-3; Rev. 1:13-16)

The Holy Spirit is truly God as is the Father, and Son (Matt. 28:19; I John 5:7) The Holy Spirit has intellect, emotion, and will (Acts 15:28; Ephesians 4:30; I Cor. 12:11). The Holy Spirit regenerates (John 3:5-8); The Holy Spirit enlightens (I Cor. 2:14-16; The Holy Spirit convicts (John 16:8-11). The Holy Spirit also comforts (John 14:15-18).  The Holy Spirit dwells in us (I Cor. 3:16; Rom. 8:9) The Holy Spirit produces godly character (Gal. 5:22, 23) and intercedes for us (Rom. 8:26). The Holy Spirit also sanctifies us (Rom.8:13); the Holy Spirit seals and preserves us (Eph. 1:13) and the Holy Spirit empowers us to witness (Acts 1:8).

  • Humanity was created innocent by God but by voluntary disobedience, sin caused their fall from that holy state; so all humankind are now sinners, not by constraint but choice; and, therefore, under just condemnation as a result of disobedience (Gen. 1:27, 31; 3:1-6; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 1:18, 3:23). “But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).”

  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Son of man came into the world to save persons from the guilt and condemnation of sin. Offering His blood as atonement and making that atonement available to all who exercise faith in Him. (John 1:29; Acts 4:12; Rom. 3:21-26; John 3:14-16; Matt. 26:28).

  • The result of acceptance of Jesus Christ is Justification, whereby, we are brought into a state of peace and favor with God. (Eph. 2:1-10; Rom. 5:1).

The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and is the basis of our faith. The church is a committed body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ and is committed to personally sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind.
